Tinu Abass is a debut picture book author. Drawn to stories about resilience, mistakes, and the messy, beautiful process of growth, she says: “I believe we’re all multifaceted parents, professionals, artists, and learners and that our “mistakes” aren’t endings but beginnings. This philosophy runs through everything I write, across every genre I explore. I’m building a collection of diverse stories that matter. Stories where Black voices aren’t just included but centred and celebrated. A mother to two beautiful daughters who keep me on my toes, learning daily that the goal isn’t perfection; it’s showing up and trying.”
In a world that is competitive, judgemental and stressful, spreading the message of kindness, compassion and love for others is crucial. Kind Obi is a sweet & encouraging story about a boy with a unique gift of caring for others. It’s a book that serves as a guide to show children how to be kinder, accept diversity and be inclusive of other peoples’ cultures.
